Delta’s graduate program has been introduced to provide the opportunity for Graduates to join a vibrant and industry leading organisation.

Graduates who meet Delta Group’s selection criteria have the opportunity to develop a range of portable skills, which may lead to ongoing positions at Delta Group.

The Delta Group Graduate Program is an optional 24-month program involving four 6-month rotations, providing hands on experience across different business areas.

As part of the Graduate Program successful candidates will be introduced into demolition, civil bulk excavation and retention works, landscaping, and recycling.

Graduate Program 2014 – Additional Information

What is the Graduate Program?

Delta’s graduate program has been introduced to provide the opportunity to graduates to join a vibrant and industry leading organisation. Graduates have the opportunity to develop a range of portable skills, support successful transfers into ongoing positions at Delta Group and more importantly, support graduates in advancing their careers.
The Delta Group Graduate Program is an optional 24-month program involving four 6-month rotations, providing hands on experience across different business areas.

Who is eligible for the Graduate Program?

Only applicants that have a university degree in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management are eligible to apply. Applicants who have graduated from other disciplines may be considered.

What is the selection Criteria?

  • Credit average academic record.
  • Have the right to work in Australia and hold a valid driver’s licence by the commencement of the program, and
  • must participate in a 6 month placement at Delta’s recycling plant in Sunshine

Who selects the applicant for the Graduate Program?

At least two Construction Managers will select the applicants to work in the Graduate Program.

What wage will be paid to applicants completing the Graduate Program?

Applicants in their first year of the graduate program will receive a salary of $53,000 + 9% super for the 2014 calendar year. An increase in accordance with CPI (expected at 3%) will occur for the second year of the graduate program.

What is completed as part of the Graduate Program?


Each applicant will spend a 6month placement in the following division of Delta.

  • Demolition
  • Civil / Bulk Excavation
  • Streetscape (Landscaping)
  • Recycling

The division manager of each division will assign the applicant activities and a mentor to train and assist in each division of Delta for their placement. The applicant will be required to work at Delta’s head office in Port Melbourne for the Civil and Demolition placements while the Recycling placement period will take place at Delta’s recycling facility in Sunshine, and the landscaping placement will take place at Streetscapes offices in Derrimut.

What happens when the graduate program is completed?

Successful completion of the Graduate Program provides an opportunity to obtain an ongoing position with Delta Group.

When will interviews be held and when will a successful applicants be notified for the graduate positions?

  • Each application will be reviewed between the 17th June 2013 to the 22th June 2013.
  • Successful applications that warrant an interview will receive a phone call between the 25th June 2013 to the 29nd June 2013.
  • Unsuccessful applications will be contacted by email between the 2nd July 2013 to the 6th July 2013.
  • 1st round interviews will be held between the 2nd July 2013 to the 6th July 2013.
  • 2nd round interviews (if required) will be held between the 9th July 2013 to 13th July 2013.
  • Applicants that are successful from the interview process will be notified between the 16th July 2013 to the 18th July 2013.
